As such, it was pre-7th season (and the implications that brings), however it can just as easily be placed in the current timeline. Also, I think it is a nice feel-good story for this time of year, as winter approaches. Dana Scully watched it start to build up on her windshield, feeling glad she was inside the heated car, and not out in the freezing cold. Turning again to the apartment doors a short distance from the parking lot, she started getting impatient. "C'mon, Mulder, hurry up," she mumbled to herself, not wanting to have to exit the warm security of the car to go get him. A few minutes later, he finally showed up through the building doors, looking tousled and scruffy, pulling a stuffed bag of supplies behind him. She smiled affectionately. Poor thing couldn't even remember to brush his hair when he was hurried. When he reached the passenger door she reached over to open it for him, seeing as he had his hands full. He quickly leaned in and threw the large bag into the back seat, sending snow flying. "Mulder!" she complained as she brushed the snowflakes off her coat. "What?" he asked quizzically, sitting down and closing the door. She sighed. "That was cold. Just, be more careful next time." "Oh, come on Scully. Don't tell me you don't like snow." He grinned impishly. "No, I just would rather not be covered in it at the present moment. It's cold!" At that, he got a mischievous grin on his face. "Well c'mon then." In a moment he was back out of the car and walking over to the driver's side. He threw open the door and offered his hand to her. "Mulder! What are you doing? Get back in here right now." "Not until you come out here first." "No! It's cold, and we have to be going." "Oh, stop worrying, Scully. The plane won't leave without us." He gave her his most endearing puppy-dog look and she groaned in defeat. "Fine! Fine! But only for a minute." She grabbed his offered hand and he pulled her out into the snow-covered parking lot. She managed to get a breath of the clean, crisp air before Mulder was pulling her along behind him, showering up the recently fallen snow. Mulder made a flying leap into a large pile of it, bringing Scully down with him. She shrieked in surprise as she landed beside him, upsetting snow all around them. She grinned happily as the disturbed snow fell down softly on her face. Sneaking a peek over at Mulder she saw he was wearing the same infectious grin, watching her. "What're you smiling at?" she smirked, before grabbing a fistful of snow and throwing it at him. Before she could react, a similar ball of snow was thrown in her face. Quickly wiping it off, she filled both hands with snow and launched herself at him, smothering him with more of the powdery stuff. She grabbed him and her velocity brought them both tumbling down the snow pile together. When the flurry of snow finally settled, Scully found Mulder's face inches from hers, both of them wearing unstoppable grins. She looked into his eyes to see her own happiness reflected there. Before he could give himself the time to change his mind, Mulder leaned in those last few inches and closed the gap between them. She closed her eyes as his lips finally touched hers in a gentle kiss. He ran his thumb lightly over her cheek, his touch as soft as the snowflakes that lay there. When they finally separated, she opened her eyes to see him watching her, gauging her reaction. The corner of her mouth lifted in a hidden smile, which he returned. But she saw the glint in his eye a moment too late. Snaking his arm around her back, he grabbed a handful of snow and shoved it down her coat, bringing forth another bout of laughter and snowball throwing.
