If you are researching the "Mygrant Ancestry" be sure to look in that section of the website. You may find the information you are searching for there. Check the Mygrant bulletin boards often, for questions and answers. You may be surprised what you find. I wish you good luck in your search!

What's in a Name?

Do not forget that the surname Mygrant was derived from the old German name Maikrantz. The surname may be spelled as above or Maikranz, Maykrantz, Meykrantz, Mykrantz, Mykranz, Mykraunz, Mygrauntz, Migrants, Mygrantz, and Mygrants. It seems they are all spellings for what we now spell Mygrant. Translation of the name: Mai equals month of May, kranz equals wreath/ring. So one tends to believe the original spelling to have been Maikranz.

Warning!

The information contained in the "Descendants of Heinrich Maikrantz" report has been collected through many years of researching records in different government offices, libraries, Internet, and most important, other family members willing to share their research, and or family knowledge, with me. Most content can be verified but not all. The author holds no responsibility for accuracy of any information contained in the report. A list of sources is available upon request. If you have different information with source facts, and would like to have something changed, or you would like to add verifiable information to this report. Please feel free to contact me . I will be happy to discuss any of the information on this web-site.
