So I'm sitting here, feeling sorry for myself. And that triggers a thought! I should update my webpage and tell everyone about how awful I feel right now!

I slept with the window open and the fan on, and it got pretty cold last night. So, I woke up at four this morning, feeling absolutely sick. I'm sure you don't want to hear about each and every symptom. So, I shut the fan off and closed the window, and went back to sleep. I'm feeling better now than I was then, and I think I'll be able to stick the day out at work. Which is good, cause I need the money (and I can talk to Val online!). I actually have my bank account up to the point where there is more money in there now than there was at the beginning of the summer.

I'm thinking the cold air is combining with caffeine withdrawal to increase my discomfort. The tea is good, though.

Three of the buildings on campus lost their network connections this morning at eight o'clock and people kept calling us all morning asking when the network would be back up. We didn't know when. People also wanted to know what exactly was wrong, and I told them we didn't know that, either. But it occurrs to me, afterwards (Datacomm took care of it, all three buildings are back online) that if I knew what was wrong, they probably wouldn't understand the explanation anyway, so why the heck do they want to know?

We've gotten some pretty dumb questions today. Things like: "Could you transfer me to..." "Who would you like to be transferred to, sir?" "I don't know her name." "Well, what department does she work for, sir?" "I don't know"

This is my answer to that:
"I'm sorry, sir, the magic 8-ball did not quite understand your question, could you re-phrase that?"

For some reason, I have a quote from Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels running around my head. It hurts. Anyway, the quote is when Eddy is going into the gym where the card game is:
Harry: "You must be Eddy, JD's son."
Eddy: "You must be Harry.... Sorry, don't know your dad."
Harry: "Keep that up, and you'll be meeting him."

*shrug* I thought I would share it with you.
