The Cambridge-Isanti High
School Speech team took home two first place team
trophies in as many weeks. They placed first at both the
Princeton and Fridley tournaments in the large school
division.
The Cambridge-Isanti High School speech team
recently took home a first place trophy at the Fridley
tournament.
Taking home individual honors at Princeton were:
1st-Tricia Miller; 3rd-Richard Kaufenberg, Keilley
Nienow, Kendra Lynn; 4th-Krista Nienow, Brianna
Satterlee, Kjerstin Besser, Lori Miller; 5th-James
Larson, Kelsey Larson, Kara Nienow; 6th-Thomas Opatz;
Honorable Mention-Cory LaNasa, Kelli Tischer and Tessa
Opatz.
Taking home individual honors at Fridley were:
1st-Tricia Miller, Richard Kaufenberg, Brianna
Satterlee; 2nd-Thomas Opatz, Keilley Nienow, Kara
Nienow; 3rd-Kjerstin Besser, Kendra Lynn; 4th-Kelsey
Larson, Whitney Sharpe, Kelli Tischer; 6th-Lori Miller,
Tessa Opatz; Honorable Mention-Krista Nienow, Emma
Aanerud and Emily Voss.
The team will next be traveling to North Branch on the
March 10 and then hosting the Mississippi 8 Conference
meet on March 15. |

The CIHS Speech Team, coached by Fran McGivern,
Lee Orvik and Kelly Fahrni, took 1st place at the Pine City
Speech Tournament on Feb. 10.
Taking first in the individual competition were Brianna
Satterlee, Tricia Miller, Keilley Nienow, Malou Rodriguez,
Hannah Palmer, Thomas Opatz, and Lori Miller. Twenty-three out
of 30 CIHS team members placed at the tournament.

CIHS will be hosting their own tournament this Saturday, Feb.

Bluejackets 2nd at Sauk Rapids
The CIHS Speech Team took 2nd place over 25 teams at the Sauk
Rapids-Rice Speech Tournament on Feb. 3, losing only to St.
Cloud Cathedral.
Taking first in the individual competition were Brianna
Satterlee and Tricia Miller who had three perfect scores. Also
placing were: Kelli Tischer, Krista Nienow, Eric Becklin and
Emma Aanerud. Taking home honorable mentions were: Kara Nienow,
Emily Voss, Kelsey Larson, Manashi Oslund, Thomas Opatz, and
Richard Kaufenberg. |
