I have a just received copy of the marriage records for Jacob Becker and Margaret Nern at the Manse, Ararat 20th December 1859. It lists his parents as: Valtin Becker and Margaret Shilling. Her parents: Antone Nern and Anna Elizabeth (not legible).

Jacob Becker aged 17 (c1836) came Sep 1853 on the Ida which came with 100 passengers, foreign surnames
Jacob Becker aged 42 (c1817) came Sep 1859 on the Carlota which came with 62 passengers, foreign surnames
