Earlier information is quoted from a small book 'Kerrisons in Norfolk, England' by P & M Haynes, privately published about 1980. John Morris 1819 - 8 Jun 1904 born in Oswestry, Wales and died at Mt Barker, South Australia, arrived in Tasmania with an uncle in 1839 According to the obituary printed in the Mt Barker 'Courier' on 8 June 1904, John worked for two years as a stonemason before moving to Launceston where he was employed as a pit-sawyer for the building of the Launceston wharf. | |
