Bet You Didn't Know I Was In The Tank!

Things You Probably Didn't Catch

Bet You Didn't Know I Was In The Tank!

Pokémon, I Choose You! - Exactly how many kids has Misty caught anyway? She dosen't seem to care that she just landed a kid while fishing. I'd be just a tad shocked if I just caught a kid!

Pokémon Emergency! - Ash and Misty go battle Team Rocket with sick and injured Pokémon. HELLO!!! They're at a Pokémon Center! It's no wonder they lost!

Challenge of the Samurai - Misty hates bug Pokémon, but she doesn't mind Butterfree. Huh…

Challenge of the Samurai - On the right side of Ash's sleeping bag is his Japanese name "Satoshi" written in English.

The School of Hard Knocks - Talk about dense!  Didn't Ash learn in "The Path to the Pokémon League" that Electric Pokémon can't handle Ground types? So why does he put Pikachu up against Cubone?

Mystery at the Lighthouse - If Bill was so stuck in that stupid Kabuto costume, how was he able talk on an intercom?

Mystery at the Lighthouse - Ok, we're not supposed to know what the "Giant Pokémon" is, correct? Even though it's unbelievably easy to tell that the thing is a Dragonite, Bill has NO idea what the heck he's looking at, yet he seems to know all 151 species! What's up with that? Also, Dragonite CAN'T be that last of it's species. You can always evolve a Dragonair. And for those of you who've seen "Mewtwo Strikes Back" screenshots, or read Nintendo Power issue 122, Dragonite seems A LOT smaller - a little taller than Brock. Go figure.

Electric Shock Showdown - When ground types go lazy. If you look closely, you can see an injured Sandshrew in the Pokémon Center. That must be one seriously weak Sandshrew if Raichu could beat it up.

Pokémon Shipwreck - Where in the heck did Misty get that Goldeen?

Island of the Giant Pokémon - There was no way Ash could've sent Butterfree or Pidgeotto to find the missing Pokémon. THEY WERE ALSO MISSING!!!

Island of the Giant Pokémon - Ash calls for Pikachu, Misty calls for Squirtle, Brock calls for Charmander and Bulbasaur. Pikachu calls for Ash, Squirtle calls for Misty, and Charmander calls for Brock. At the end, Ash catches Pikachu, Misty catches Squirtle, and Brock catches Bulbasaur and Charmander. Coincidence?

Island of the Giant Pokémon - Can you say too much booze? Looked to me like Squirtle and Bulbasaur got into a drunken fight!

Island of the Giant Pokémon - Okay, let me get this strait: Squirtle is cowering when he talks to Blastoise, but he calls Bulbasaur a coward for not talking to Venusaur. Hypocrite!

The Ghost of Maiden's Peak - The penny that James finds was added over the 100 yen coin by 4 Kids Entertainment; however the cash register that the old lady opens is filled with Japanese money.

The Ghost of Maiden's Peak - Look closely; after Gastly transforms into a fire extinguisher, you can see that the label is in Japanese. Oops!

Bye Bye Butterfree - Brock wants Butterfree to mate with one that he sees a pretty girl release, but when Butterfree picks a different one, Brock doesn't seem to care. He also seems to forget that the girl ever existed after that one scene!

Bye Bye Butterfree - Meowth counts 100 Butterfrees in the net. It looks like there's fewer than 100 in the net, but more than 100 at the beginning. Oops, either an animation glitch, or a translation glitch.

Abra and the Psychic Showdown - The long-haired man says you can't control a Psychic Pokémon without Telekinesis. Gee, I never thought Misty had Telekinesis! She and Water/Psychic Pokémon Psyduck must be closer than we thought!

Haunter Versus Kadabra - Can you say no honor? Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Pikachu all hide behind Ash instead of protecting him like good loyal Pokémon should!

Haunter Versus Kadabra - If Team Rocket fell from the building, they'd die. Yet they fall, and survive (But how did they get out of the cement). And I thought animé was true to life! Must not apply to kids shows.

Primeape Goes Bananas - Ash, Misty, and Brock aren't eating donuts. They're eating rice balls.

Primeape Goes Bananas - Ash makes Primeape the sixth member of the team. Then Ash catches Muk AFTER Primeape leaves, so why did Muk go to Prof. Oak? (Then again, would you want to be stuck with a Pokémon you can smell through the Pokéball?). Poor Muk!

Pokémon Scent-sation - As shown in this episode, it is possible to teach Skull Bash (TM40) to a Charmander, but not possible to teach Whirlwind (TM04) to a Bulbasaur (as seen in "The Ninja Poké-Showdown"). Oops.

Hypno's Naptime - Why we love stairs. When Misty leaves the building, the others are close behind her. She must have used stairs, because she'd be way ahead if she used the elevator, and way behind if they used it. Either that or she's the fittest person alive. Must get her exercise from beating up Ash and catching up to Brock before he hits on another girl.

The Punchy Pokémon
- Machokes must be REAL popular fighting Pokémon: the thing appears 3 times! Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Primeape each fight and defeat it.

Sparks Fly for Magnemite - Brock calls Magnemite an "Inorganic Pokémon". Some other Inorganic Pokémon include Magneton, Voltorb, Electrode, and Porygon.

Sparks Fly for Magnemite
- Can you say weird senses of smell? How come it is that nobody notices the smell that much when Grimer and Muk are in the control room, but suddenly notice it AFTER Ash has caught it (Muk)!

Sparks Fly for Magnemite
- Towards the end all the Grimer are chased out by Pikachu's Thunder Shock. But when everyone thinks it's ok suddenly Ash says that there's still one left. Then Ash says that it's an adult Muk and it's child. Call me crazy, but it looks like there's only ONE Muk. All the Grimer were chased out by Pikachu's Thunder Shock!

Sparks Fly for Magnemite - Disappearing act! Nurse Joy is worried because the Pokémon at the center are going to die if the power stays out. It appears the only Pokémon there are Growlithe, Spearow, and Sandshrew. At the end, there are more Pokémon, like Pidgey, Bellsprout, and Oddish!

The Ninja Poké-Showdown - When Venonat uses Psybeam, it comes out in a multi-colored beam, just like in Pokémon Stadium. But when Kadabra uses it in "Haunter Versus Kadabra" it comes out as a bunch of colored lines. What's up with that? Psybeam is supposed to look the same for each and every Pokémon that uses it!

The Ninja Poké-Showdown - Can you say early Alzheimers? James is scared to death of the Voltorbs, but in "A Chansey Operation" he has no idea what in the world they are!

The Flame Pokémon-athon - Here's proof that Ash can't count. Pikachu is outnumbered by the Tauros, so he sends out Charmander to help Pikachu out. HELLO IN THERE!!! I don't think putting out Pokémon #2 is gonna make a difference against about 20 Tauros!

The Flame Pokémon-athon - At the beginning of the race, a Nidorino is shown at the line. When the Tauros goes nuts, it hits a Nidorina. Nidorino isn't seen in the race, and Nidorina isn't seen at the line. Somewhere along the way the Pokémon got a sex change!

The Flame Pokémon-athon
- Ok, further proof that all the characters are in dire need of Ginko-biloba (pills to help their memories). In this episode, Ash, Misty, and Brock learn about Growlithe, yet in "Holy Matrimony!" and "The Case of the K-9 Caper" nobody seems to know what a Growlithe is!

The Kangaskhan Kid - Species crisis: Are the other Kangaskhan really so stupid they can't tell that the Kangaskhan in front of them is a mechanical Kangaskhan? And what's up with not noticing the REALLY obvious James in its mouth?

The Bridge Bike Gang - Nurse Joy says that all the Pokémon (notice that she uses the word Pokémon in a plural statement) are going to die if they (Ash, Misty, and Brock) don't deliver the medicine on time. Call me crazy but there is only ONE Pokémon in peril! A Shelder is the ONLY Pokémon that is ever shown as getting sick and getting the medicine!

The Bridge Bike Gang - Bike Alert! Misty hasn't mentioned her bike in a while, until Ash says "I wish we had bikes." Common Sense Alert! Misty said that if she had her bike "we" could be riding across the bridge by now. One problem, you CANNOT fit 3 people onto ONE bike! No matter what your friends say,  you CANNOT fit 3 people onto a bike! One on the handle-bars or the back (if you have those shoe stands on the wheels) yes, but NOT 3!

The Bridge Bike Gang
- No wonder Charmander evolved first! Bulbasaur, who is strong against Rock Pokémon, is beaten by Golem. Charmander, who is weak against Rock Pokémon, defeats Golem! This means Charmander is a lot stronger. I wonder if this threw Ash off on his strategies.

Ditto's Mysterious Mansion - Where are the color contacts when you REALLY need them? When Duplica disguises herself as Misty, her eyes stay brown.

Ditto's Mysterious Mansion - Team Rocket isn't Ditto's trainer - so why should Ditto transform for them? From what I've seen in all the other epsiodes the Pokémon don't give in to brute force, so why does it? And one more thought, how long do you think that Ditto would stay as a Dratini?

Pikachu's Goodbye - Now you see me now you don't! The number of Pikachus change throughout the episode: many Pikachus disappear when the chant starts, and the most are shown when they're trapped in the net.

The Battling Eevee Brothers
- If the Moon Stone is found only in Mt. Moon, then how come there aren't any Wigglytuffs, Clefables, Nidoqueens or Nidokings. And if every other stone is there, where's Arcanine?

The Battling Eevee Brothers
- Misty calls Jessie an Old Hag, so she spits fire. Meowth says she evolved into a Flareon. Whaddya know! That's exactly what she wanted to turn Eevee into!

Showdown at Dark City - The Yas Gym's 'other' Pokémon are all fighting types while the Kas Gym's are Water, Rock, and Normal types! Huh…

Wake Up Snorlax!
- Snorlax wakes up and eats the vines behind it to let the water from the stream through. But wait a sec! What ever happened to the previous vines Ash, Misty, and Brock had to crawl through?

Wake Up Snorlax! - The Hippie's Snorlax beeper says 'No. 7.' How many Snorlax is this guy toting around anyway?

The March of the Exeggutor Squad - Another culture change. Melvin the Magician's dream is to perform in Las Vegas. In Japan he wouldn't be saying that!

The Problem with Paras - Lesson for today: NEVER pretend your a superhero. It just may end up costing you a billion dollars!

The Song of Jigglypuff - When Ash, Misty, and Brock first walk into Neon Town, A bunch of signs are shown in the background. One of them in the back is Japanese. Now when the same scene is shown  (when Jigglypuff sings in the truck) the sign is blank.

The Song of Jigglypuff - Notice how Ash, Misty, Brock, Pikachu, Officer Jenny, and that one guy that bumped into Ash earlier all escaped Jigglypuff's magic marker.

The Song of Jigglypuff - At the end that one really mean guy goes up to apologize to Ash. At the same time notice how one of Misty's shoes magically disapears.

Pririncess Vs. Princess - Eek! Notice that all the signs in the background say PMS.

Attack of the Prehistoric Pokémon
- Again the bike thing. Misty mentions it while trying to dig Ash out with Brock, Squirtle, and Geodude. And one more thing. How in the heck did Squirtle prevent itself from falling in?

Attack of the Prehistoric Pokémon - If Charizard was only interested in battling Aerodactyl, why did it dive down to save Ash when Aerodactyl let go? (This goes to show that Ash can jump to conclusions and be right)

Attack of the Prehistoric Pokémon - Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, and Kabutops sense Aerodactyl and run away at first; but then later nobody seems scared of it!

A Chansey Operation
- Talk about early Christmas! Some of the things Chansey gives Meowth besides his charm are rice, a game, a police booth with Officer Jenny inside, and a Venonat!

A Chansey Operation - Speaking of those charms, Meowth's stayed imbedded in his head the whole time! Can you say migrane?

Holy Matrimony! - Here's one that'll stump ya. Growly is a Growlithe, which is a fire type but then why couldn't it make fire for James?

Holy Matrimony! - Another funny coincidence. The fountain in front of the mansion has three stone Magikarps spitting water. And James's parents care for three Magikarps in their pond!

Holy Matrimony! - Talk about arranged marriages! When James's engagement was announced he was only nine or ten! Isn't that just a little too young, even for a family of that stature?

Holy Matrimony!
- Talk about power napping! The scene after Growly drives Jessiebell and Vileplume away, Ash and Misty are sleeping standing up in the backround!

So Near, Yet so Farfetch'd
- Here's an example of some tough love. Jessie has that annoying Lickitung and yet she doesn't want it taken by Farfetch'd. If she cared for it so much, how come she never uses it?

Who Gets to Keep Togepi? - Dubbers fault! At the beginning of the show Nurse Joy talks to Ash but her lips don't move at all!

Who Gets to Keep Togepi? - When Prof. Oak is talking to Ash, it appears that Muk loses its rather foul odor because Prof. Oak doesn't hold his nose. Also, if Muk's body is so poisonous, why was it crawling all over Prof. Oak?

Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden - Team Rocket has one gigantic vacuum that managed to suck up all the Ivysaurs and even lift Venusaur of the ground, and yet it can't even pick up Bulbasaur!

The Case of the K-9 Caper - With all do respect, I don't think there's a girl alive who could do an obstical course of that level in a skirt and highheels!
Tha Case of the K-9 Caper - Jigglypuff performes agian. Why? Also, Jigglypuff gets that annoying megaphone. Wonder what it's gonna do with it.

Pokémon Paparazzi - Meowth a dog? When Team Rocket comes in their disguises, Meowth is on a leash!

Pokémon Paparazzi - Ash didn't ask for Charizard's picture to be taken, and he also didn't ask the chef in "The Breeding Center Secret" if Charizard was his favorite.

The Ultimate Test
- Jessie says she's 17 years old, which means her and James are probably the same age. But with that resumé of hers it's hard to believe she's only 17. There aren't any 17-year-olds I know have jobs like hairdressing and wine expert (heck it's not even LEGAL to drink when you're 17)!

The Ultimate Test - Further proof that Ash is a total moron. Ash thinks Hitmonlee is "The Punching Demon." Just how long before he remembers that Hitmonlee used kicking attacks against Primeape in "The Punchy Pokémon," and that Hitmonchan used punching attacks against Pikachu?

The Ultimate Test - The instructor says "When Poliwag evolves into Poliwhirl" but the screen shows a Poliwrath!

The Breeding Center Secret - Everything in this world is about Pokémon.  This is including a weather update!
