For many years, there has been a strong association between Preston Transport in its various forms and Liverpool. From time to time career progression has seen officers of Preston Transport taking up posts with Liverpool CT. Liverpool or Merseyside buses have been inspected by Preston and even identical vehicles have been supplied to the two undertakings when Preston became the only other recipient of Liverpool style Panthers.

On one of the few occasions that Preston purchased pre-owned buses, 4 Nationals came from Merseyside PTE and ironically three of the four ended up back on Merseyside with North Western.

However, used bus traffic in recent years has more strongly favoured Preston vehicles taking up residence on Merseyside.

First to go south were several of the Alexander bodied Atlanteans which went to North Western RCC in 1987 - GBV102N being shown

More recently, East Lancs bodied Atlantean GFV151W has entered service with Liverpool Motor Services
