Ethics- Art
  Sapience: the summation of
Love, Wisdom,  Morality  and  Creativity.
Ethics Art is happy to welcome you to... the never ending journey into sapience as an art form.

"Art", because sapience is neither a given, nor a predesigned place were you go to find rules.   Sapience is a creation which is developed in the same manner as aesthetics:  always anew and within one's own sphere of action.

The human is an ever-becoming entity, and sapience is an ever-becoming creation.

The concept of "Sapience" encompasses Love,  Wisdom,  Morality and Creativity.    These four elements when used together (sapience), have enabled us to evolve, and will enable us to continue to evolve.

When sapient people decide to act, we consider our options, and even though we cannot be absolutely certain of being right, we try to make wise, moral, loving, and creative decisions that are very similar, if not equivalent to, aesthetic decisions.

The purpose of this web site is to interact with people who would like to clarify their moral and creative thinking, and to help others achieve the same goal.  There are no teachers here.   We are all students and
co-discoverers.

A place to start...

The sources  for moral understanding have traditionally been:
1.   "Feelings":  Intuitions and inspirations about what is our "best".
2.   Some authority that claims to perceive more directly than the rest of us, a power beyond ourselves.
3.   Rational philosophy (from formal to common rationalism).

Though these sources have had mixed results they should  not be discarded.
The first source seems impossible to do without.
The second may or may not be a proper one but certainly there are plenty of good insights brought to us by some of those "authorities".  On the negative side it may destroy what it seeks to create, since morality requires a sentient being that wills itself to be moral, that chooses its own morality....an impossed morality is no morality at all.
The last, rational phylosophy, when used only as a preliminary step, gives us much to guide our search.

Evolution. There through our real or just so perceived polarities we all go...where to, my fellow traveler, where to?
