Taur holds a dark secret that he has kept to himself for the past thirteen years. While serving the T'Nine he and the crew were responsible for the destruction of the J-48 system. While studying the trinary star system the Vulcans attempted to harness energy from the sun; however, they ended up causing the sun to go nova which killed the entire species in the J-48 system. Taur was ordered by the Vulcan Consulate to keep this secret, but it has nearly pushed him to emotional outburst on several occasions. Taur is not sure how much longer he can contain his emotions while living with this secret.
Taur's former CO was Commander Sutrac of the T'Nine. Taur has a red discoloration on his left thigh; cause unknown. During the Starfleet training simulation on the Atlantis Simulator Taur was placed in command of the simulated scenario; unfortunately, the Atlantis was destroyed by Klingon Raptors. While serving aboard the Meridian, Taur uncovered evidence that the Klingons were attacking a Cassellian freighter, evidence which ultimately led to the Meridian sending a rescue team.
Taur is a member of the Vulcan minority with the ability to mind-meld, but keeps this secret as well for fear of losing his commission. Seven years ago, he mind-melded with his mate, T'Lar, also a member of the minority, and has only recently discovered his contraction of Pa'nar Syndrome. After transferring off of the Meridian, Taur spent ten months studying medicine under Vulcan Dr. T'Shar and eventually returned to the Meridian as a Vulcan Medical Consultant. |
