Little Bit Of Heaven Adoption Agency Fall 2008 | ![]() |
|||||||||||||
Hope you all are having a great Fall. Most of you already know but for those who do not, LBOH is now a Licensed Adoption Agency in Ohio. We can now work with Birthmother’s and Birth family’s wishing to place their child for Adoption. Home studies and Post Adoption Services are also part of our agency‘s services. Everyday we meet new Agency’s that are also using our services for the Referral Program. It seems that the last few months all the agencies and Referrals have been a bit slow. Not sure why but I am sure this will pick up.
All of us are very excited to be able to serve the families and Birth families in the best interest of each family. Betty |

Editors note: You are about to read a Article that my 8 yr old daughter wanted to write about her view of being an Older child Adopted from Foster Care at 5yrs old. Adopting the Older Child Written By Kennedy Smith age 8 My name is Kennedy I was taken from my birth mom at 2 yrs old because she was just to young to care for me. While she was trying to follow the steps set by the care system to get me back she had my brother. She just never could get the money or home we needed. I went to three different foster homes during my time in foster care. Saw many different social workers who were like my family, Doctors and Counselors. My brother lived in a different home till the last one we thought we were going to be adopted but the lady didn’t want my brother. Children Service would not separate us, I did want a home but didn’t want to go without my brother. While in this home we were not cared for the way we should have been . My brother who was little about a year old couldn’t play, he had to sit on a pillow and watch tv. If he got up they wipped him with a belt. I was taken into a room with my counselor and told I was getting a Forever family, that was mommy an daddy. At first I was really upset, I even cried and said I didn’t want to go. I wanted a family but didn’t know if where we would be going would be better or worse. Then I asked if Manny could come? And found out I would have a little sister and my own bathroom. I saw pictures of the house and yard, I saw a swing and pool. Mommy and Daddy came to meet me the next week, I wanted to go then. But had to wait till they could take me to their house, I cried when my new mom left. It was a very long drive to get there. When I got there I jumped on the bed. That is against mommys rules now. I liked the house and my parents. But I really didn’t believe I would stay. I started doing things I knew my mom wouldn’t like to see if she would send me back or call the social worker. I knew that she was unhappy with me but I still did those things. I didn’t want to leave but just didn’t think that they would love me enough to keep me. They were real honest with me from the start telling me they loved me, that helped. If you were to ask me about older children I use to say I would not adopt a child over 5 because they have to many issues but now I think 8. I still have issues at times and sometimes still act up but I know my parents are here for me. Give an older child or two, three or four a chance, I would not have wanted to have left my brother. Love you mommy Kennedy ________________________________________________________________________ |
