I often relish in watching you sleep
And I ponder what else is in store
How God made two lights shine as one
How could we ask for more

You are my heart, the spark in my soul
You're my bright and shining tomorrow
And each night as I watch you sleep
I no longer wrestle the sorrow

I often wonder what you must be dreaming
When you're in your deepest retreat
As a smile cascades your lips
A treasured moment in time to keep

Just remember my love when you awake
To caress my cheek each day
For when I watch you sleep at night
Those are the memories I tuck away
