Prime Number Sieve

 

Directions:

1. Fill in the numbers from 1 to 100, in ascending order, from the upper left.
2. Cross out the number 1.
3. Find the lowest number you have not circled or crossed out yet.
4. Count to 100 by the number you have just circled, cross out all of the uncircled, uncrossed numbers that you name.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all of the numbers in the chart are either circled or crossed out.
6. Stop.

 

 

1. Do you like to follow exact instructions? The ability to follow instructions exactly is a very useful skill, and very dangerous one as well. Computers execute instructions exactly as they are written.
2. Do you enjoy writing exact instructions in a strict grammar? Perhaps you would enjoy becoming a computer programmer. They make reasonably good money and enjoy a lot of freedom on the job. It is not a bad way go.
