Messmer High School
Mr. Palmer Web Page Design class
Unit 8 projects.

Introduction - In unit Eight we will explore techniques for using other Microsoft products for creating web pages. This can be very handy in some cases, difficult in others. In every case you are required to create the given assignment in a MY Documnets folder, save it as a web page under the My Documents folder, and only then post it on your web site.  You may need to use Notepad or other editors to make minor fixes but most of the work should be done in the given Microsoft product. You may on occasion be surprised at the format you project takes. In some cases you will not have as much control on the look of the finished product.

There are five projects in this unit:

  1. Unit  8, Project 1. Create a document in MS-Word on any topic you care to choose. It must include at least 300 words of paragraph oriented written materials, a header, a footer, one piece of Word-art, one bulleted list with at least ten items and at least one ten-by-ten table( a multiplication table will do nicely here). The document need not include any pictures, images or links. Use the save-as feature to create the document as a web page.
  2. Unit 8, Project 2. Create a document in MS-Word that can serve as graph paper. It should have a spacing of .25 inches and fill a printed 8 by 11 piece of  paper as nearly as possible.
  3. Unit 8, Project 3. Create a MS-Excel Spreadsheet conforming to the requirements for Squeaky Clean Cars. This is created by completing Exercise 2 in both Chapters 8 and 9 in the newer edition of A Guide to Microsoft Office XP Professional.
  4. Unit 8, Project 4. Create the MS-Excel Spreadsheet with a pie chart described in Exercise 2 of Chapter 10. This is an extension of the Squeaky Clean Cars project.
  5. Unit 8, Project 5. Create a (minimum) ten slide project in Power-point. It must include at least five still images, three bulleted lists, two animated JIFs, a sound clip and a movie clip. You may choose your own topic but all content must be G rated. No vulgar, obscene of offensive content will be allowed.
