So What About The Cell Games?Androids too? |
 |
 |
So why do I think the Cell / Android saga was so important?
The Android Saga was the start of a transition, a small saga that lead on to bigger things, the Cell Saga.
The Android Saga gave birth to Future Trunks, who obviously lived in the future. He returned to warn us about Goku's heart disease, the coming of the androids,
and what was going to happen in the future if they didn't act quick. Without Future Trunks, Goku would not have survived the heart disease, meaning that we would have been
extra doomed against cell. Why do I say that? Who taught Gohan to train and showed confidence in his hidden powers? Noone but Goku.
The Cell Saga however, was even more important.
The Cell Saga was the middle saga or the turning point of the whole 3 series. It did 3 main things that would effect the future and outcome of DBZ forever more.
First of all, the Cell Saga spawned a new idea. Noone is perfect. Why do I say that? Gohan went SSJ2 against Perfect Cell, played with him, and caused him to resort to self-destucting.
Then he absorbed Goku as well. We found out he was even more perfect than before. What if he was to gain access to Gohan's body as well? Perfect Perfect Cell as well? He was killed
in the end anyway. Gohan wasn't perfect either. He let his power get to his head, therefore letting down his friends and forcing his father to make a sacrifice that didn't work out at all.
Second of all, this is when Goku died. This effected the entire series until DBGT started. Even though he occasionally hanged around his friends and family after his death through
instant transmission or teleport, he was never really there to guide Gohan as he grew up, or to be with Chi Chi. I still don't get how Goten could have been born without Goku alive.
Third and last, the trauma from this saga forever changed Gohan. He no longer had the fierceness in his hidden power. It took away his childhood but it threw him into a mess.
Chi Chi also helped this along with a serving of books (not like I'm saying its a totally bad thing) but without his father, he never really was the same again. He did have fun growing up, acting
as the man of the house, meeting Videl, helping raise Goten. But he was no longer the Gohan we knew from Dead Zone or the Saiyan saga.
