The Deftones are one of the most energetic and revolutionizing sounds in metal/rap-rock today. They changed views on the whole rap-metal scene. They blend heavy metal sounds with sometimes eerie, moaning vocals, and sometimes hardcore-spit rapping. It's a truly unique combination pulled off much better than many other sound-alike bands. Unlike many other rap-metal acts, The Deftones get plenty of airtime on the radio and a lot of their videos played often on the music video channels. Their first CD was singled by the song, Bored. This song prepared the world for the explosive songs to come in later CDs.
