Stabbing Westward has changed a great deal since their first album, Ungod, came out a several years ago. The love-sick, hating, violent, and lost lyrics that once plagued the cds (and I don't use "plague" in a bad way) seems to have escaped the new Stabbing Westward ablum (self-titled). They went from Darkest Days having a song called "On Your Way Down", featuring lines such as:

"I hope I see you on your way down
I hope you break every bone
I hope it kills you on your way down"

to having songs on the new album like "Angel" with lyrics like this:
"I believed in nothing
 But you believed in me
 I thought love was worthless
But you told me I'm a star..."

It seems a whole lot different to me, but the sound hasn't changed, although some may argue that the CD is not as hard as past releases. Nevertheless, Stabbing Westward has (and will continue to) evolved and become a better band by trying out lighter lyrics. After you make a millions of dollars, how can you really be that mad anymore? KoRn anyone?
