Chapter 16
+rita's point~of~view+ +flashback+

"Rita? Rita, HELL-O?! Earth wants Rita back!" Lee teased, waving her hand in front of my eyes. This sent me crashing back to reality and I shook my head before asking, "Yeah?" "Did you see that argument?! Whoa! WE know who's not gonna get laid tonight!" Lee laughed as her eye depths glimmered. "Um, yeah, I saw it. Poor bastard," I replied hastily, raising my shot glass to my lips. "Yup, yup," Lee giggled before taking a drink of her rum and coke. I gave a small grin and returned my eyes to the dance floor which was coated with multicolored lights and people dancing teasingly with each other. Then, my sight caught a beguile looking man with dark eyes; short, black, spiked up hair and long legs. His white shirt was taut on him, so I saw every precious contour on his body. He was sitting on a stool, smoking a cigarette. "I guess my night won't be so boring after all," I whispered over to Lee, "See ya." "Have fun," Lee smiled, waving good bye. I blushed, slipped out of the booth and pushed my way over to the counter where he was at. He lifted his eyes at me and exhaled his smoke on the far left hand side of me. "Hi," I managed to say. "Hello," he grinned. He gestured to the empty seat besides him and I sat down on it. 'Break the ice, Rita...' "My name is Rita. What's yours?" I asked, trying hard not to stutter. 'Good girl...' "Jay," he replied, putting out his cigarette in the glass ashtray. "Nice to meet you, Rita." "Same here." "To tell you the truth, I am blase tonight. I thought coming here would beat my mood. Apparently it hasn't." 'We differ there, Jay,' I thought, 'You just made this night beautiful for me.' I tried to keep up the conversation, "I think that this night isn't TOO bad... I mean..."

Before I could finish, Jay's lips were on mine and we kissed so deep, that he took my breath away. I pulled away, trying to regain my composure. His seductive face was still close to mine and his breath was of a tempting mixture of fire, peppermint and nicotine. "I ain't the one to have conversations. I like to get to the point," Jay whispered, "Come with me." He slid off of his stool, looked behind me and began to walk forward. My emotions were fighting with me. Jay turned around again and for the single moment, he looked like a little boy with an anticipating expression on his face. Chewing on my bottom lip nervously, I followed him down the dance hall corridor. Jay took my hand in his and flipped his head around slightly. Brushing some strands of hair he had in his eyes. 'Goddamn, this HAS to be a dream. I CANNOT be doing this...' He opened a random door and pulled me inside. As soon as I stepped in, he clicked the door to a lock. Candles blared in the confined room and, through the obscurity, I saw a bed with vermillion covers with matching pillow cases. Suddenly, chills ran up my spine when I felt Jay's presence draw nearer. When I turned around, I looked at him sharply and I swear that I saw his eyes change color and a snarl on his lips. When I opened my mouth to scream, nothing came out.

"Shhh..." Jay scolded gently, raising a finger to my trembling lips, "I know that I frighten you now, but soon, that will all change." I began quaking all over and his embrace tightened around me. "This'll only hurt for a second..." Just then, what felt like pins stabbed into my throat and I clutched on the back of his shirt. 'I am going to die, I am going to die...' After a few seconds, Jay pulled away from me and I went limp. He gingerly carried me to the bed and placed me gently on it. Jay raised his wrist to his mouth and bit down. Drawing crimson liquid. Some of it splattered in my mouth and I almost gagged on it. Subconsciously, I raised my head and latched my mouth on his bleeding wrist. Something rapid tore in my ears. My heartbeat beginning to pick up. Without warning, he pulled away and took my throat in his mouth again. Blackness clouded over me...
