Interior Modifications

I think the Probe interior is one of the car's strong points.  It is very modern looking, the dash is layed out very logically, and the drivers seats wraps around you like a true sports car.  There is fantastic lateral support, and a sense of "lowness" which gives a feeling of confidence when pushing the car to its limits.

Here is a shot of my interior displaying my modifications to it.  The first two more for appearance includes the leather boot around the shifter and the leather wrapped steering wheel.

The other two modifications includes my stereo head unit and my red fog light switch.

The leather boot I added in an attempt to make the shifter look more attractive.  I obtained a standard leather boot designed for a manual transmission and modified it to make it fit.  This included cutting the top of the boot to make it fit over the shifter knob and sowing the seam together to get a tight fit around it.  I also cut some of the bottom part of the vinyl because it was too long.  I then used a long strip of velcro to secure the base of the boot to the sides of the shifter cavity.
