Glanmor Williams – wel dyma foi sy’n dechra’n gwylltio ni yma yn Mêts Abbandonato efo’i siarad di-ddiwedd am gynnal ffeinal Cwpan Lloegr yn Stadiwm y Mileniwm. Yn y Wales yn Sunday diwethaf, dwedodd byddai’n barod rhoi ei fraich dde i ddod a’r gem Seisnig hon i Gaerdydd. Wrth gwrs, dydi Glanmor yn poeni dim am yr effaith hyn ar bêl-droed Cymru, cyn belled a fod yr Undeb Rygbi yn cael leinio eu pocedi, sydd eisoes yn llawn. A rwan mae wedi galw ar i’r Cynlliad Cenedlaethol roi arian i geisio sicrhau fod y gêm yn dod i Gaerdydd – bydd yn sicr o gael cefnogaeth grwp Plaid Cymru, gyda Ieuan Wyn Jones yn gefnogol iawn i ddenu timau Seisnig i Gymru. Mae Prif Weinidog y Cynnulliad Rhodri Morgan, hefyd yn awyddus iawn i ddod a Cwpan Lleogr i Gymru – ond ydi rhoi arian i hyn yn bwysicach na ysbytai ag ysgolion Rhodri? Dyma oedd ei ddadl Morgan ynerbyn cael blwch ticio Cymreig ar y cyfrifiad fyddai wedi costio llawer llai. Gobeithio gall Mike German, ddefnyddio ei bwer, i ddod a perswad yn erbyn penderfynniad niweidiol hwn.

Ieuan Wyn Jones o blaid. Mae arweinydd Plaid Cymru wedi datgan ei fod o blaid yr achlysur yma a allai roi statws Cymru fel Cenedl bel-droed yn y fantol. Wrth gwrs mae'r blaid wedi profi ei bod yn ansicr ynglyn a statws annibynnol gwleidyddol - eisio sedd ar y Cenhedloedd Unedig ond yn gwadu'r angen am ennill annibynniaeth cyn gwneud hyn bosib. Mae eu polisi ynglyn a'r cwpan FA yng Nghaerdydd yn debyg - eisio'r pres byddai'r achlysur yn ei greu ond yn gwrthod derbyn oblygiadau posib hyn i statws Cymru fel cenedl bel-droed annibynnol.

Y cefndir. Dyma'r penderfynniad gwaethaf i gael ei wneud yn hanes Pel-droed Cymru. Penderfynniad fydd yn cryfhau'r cysylltiad rhwng Cymru a LLoegr. Rhywbeth fydd yn sicrhau ym meddyliad bobl ar draws y byd fod Cymru yn ddim mwy na rhanbarth dibwys o Loegr.

Wrth gwrs mae rhai, fel aelodau gwasg y gwter - bobl brydeinig eu hagwedd fel y Sais Eidalaidd, Paul Abbandonato, wedi canmol y penderfynniad hwn gan Undeb Rygbi Cymru, sy'n peoni dim am statws Cymru fel gwlad yn y byd Pel-droed. Mae rhai, fel cyn reolwr Cymru, Terry Yorath - dyn chwerw sydd yn byw yn Lloegr - wedi dweud dylai sicrhau bod Plant o Gymru yn cael y cyfle i fynd i weld y timau seisnig hyn yn chwarae.

Ond, beth sy'n gwneud y sefyllfa yn waeth yw fod bobl o'r FAW fel JO Hughes yn canmol y penderfynniad, gan ddadlau y bydd yn helpu i greu chwaraewyr newydd at y dyfodol i dim cenedlaethol Cymru!!!!!!!!!! Sut all bobl o gymdeithas Beldroed Cymru ddisgwyl i ddenu timau Cymru yn ol i'r pyramid cenedlaethol os ydynt yn gweld dennu timau o Loegr i chwarae gem yng Nghaerdydd fel cymaint o anrhydedd?

Edrychwch ar y ffeithiau sy'n cael ei gweld gan bobl o'r tu allan i Gymru. Gwlad sydd efo rhai o'i timau gorau yn chwarae mewn cynghrair dramor, efo mwyafrif ei phoblogaeth yn cefnogi timau estron, gyda rhai sydd yn cefnogi tim cenedlaethol Lloegr. Mae'r ffaith fod Cwpan Lloegr yn cael ei chwarae yng Nghymru yn ychwanegu at y darlun hwn. Sut all gwlad o'r fath fod mor haerllug a disgwyl cael tim Cenedlaethol?

Glanmor Williams – well here’s a man that’s starting to get on our nerves here at Mêts Abbandonato with his endless talk of staging the English Cup final at the Millennium Stadium. In the latest Wales on Sunday, he said that he would give his right arm to bring this English game to Cardiff. Of course, Glanmor doesn’t care about the possible effects of this on Welsh Football, as long as he can line the pockets of the Rugby Union that are already full. Now he has called on the National Assembly to hand out money to ensure that the match comes to Cardiff – he will probably gain the backing of the Plaid Cymru group, with Ieuan Wyn Jones a big supporter of bringing English teams to Wales. The Assembly’s First Minister, Rhodri Morgan, is also in favour of bringing the English Cup to Wales – but is awarding money to this more important than Schools and Hospitals Rhodri? This was his argument against having a Welsh tick-box on the census, despite a much lower cost. Let’s hope Mike German can use his power, to persuade against this damaging decision.

Ieuan Wyn Jones in favour. The leader of Plaid Cymru has shown his support to an event that could lead to the end of Wales' status as a football-nation. The party has show in the past that it is insecure about the idea of independence. Saying that they would like a seat on the United Nations but denying the need for independence in order to acheive this. This is echoed in their policy toward the FA Cup Final - wanting the money such an occasion would generate, but denying the damage that this could cause to the status of Wales as an independent football nation.

The background. This is the worst decision to be made in the hostory of Welsh Football. A decision which will strengthen the link between England and Wales. Something that will ensure in the minds of people accross the world that Wales is nothing more than a unimportant region of England.

Of course some, like members of the gutter press - people with a British view of the world like the Anglo-Italian, Paul Abbandonato - have applauded the decision by a Welsh Rugby Union, who don't give a damn about Wales' standing as a footballing nation. Some people, like ex-Wales manager Terry Yorath - a bitter man living in England - has said that it should be secured that Welsh Kids should have the chance to see these English teams playing.

But, what makes the situation worse is that people from the FAW, like JO Hughes are singing the praises of the decision, claiming that it will help to create more promising youngsters who might help the national team in the future!!!!!!!! How can people from the Welsh FA expect to bring welsh teams back into the Welsh pyramid if they see bringing teams from England to play in Cardiff as such a feather in their cap?

Look at the facts which are seen by people from the outside Wales. A country which has some of it's best teams playing in a foreign league, the majority of it's population supporting teams from another country, with some of them extending that support to the English national team. The fact that the English Cup will be played in Wales only adds to this depressing picture. How can a country like this be rude enough to even expect having a national team?
