Unit Five.

Trist oedd nodi mai hoff bersonoliaeth chwaraeon plant bach Cymru oedd neb llai na ymosodwr Lloegr, Michael Owen - sydd wedi cael blwyddyn ddistaw iawn. Yn yr ail safle, daeth chwaraewr cannol-cae Lloegr, David Beckham. Dyma oedd canlynniadau pleidlais ar raglen Uned Pump, neu ddyliwn i ddweud 'Unit Five'. Ond fedrwch chi ddim beio'r plant a bleidlaiesiodd, ymateb yn unig oeddynt i'r restr-fer a luniwyd gan y rhaglen. Beth ydych yn disgwyl iddynt feddwl pan mae'r cyflwynwyr yn rhoi gwen ar ei gwyneb, a llenwi ei llais gyda cyffro bob tro maent yn cael yr anrhydedd i enwi 'ser' tim Lloegr. Maen siwr fod y bleidlais uchel i Michael Owen wedi cael ei helpu gan yr arferiad o gyfeirio ato fel "y Cymro Michael Owen" gan awgrymu ei fod yn cynrychioli Cymru yn nhim Lloegr/Prydain. Ond dydi Owen ddim yn Gymro - cafodd ei eni yn Lloegr yn fab i Saeson. Efallai ei fod wedi byw yng Nghymru trwy rhan fwyaf ei oes, ond trwy chwarae i Loegr mae wedi dangos mai Sais ydi o.

Felly, yr unig gasgliad gellir dod iddo yw fod cyflwynwyr y rhaglen hon trwy ei "brain-washio" Seisnig cyson, wedi llwyddo i greu cenhedlaeth o blant sydd yn teimlo ei bod yn iawn i gefnogi tim Lloegr o flaen Cymru. Dyma yw canlyniad amlwg yr arfer o ystyried Cynghriar Lloegr fel ein Cynghrair ni a timau fel Man U. fel ein tim 'ni'.

It was sad to note that the favourate sports personality of Welsh Kids was England stricker, Michael Owen - who has had a very quiet year. In second place, was England midfeilder, David Beckham. These were the results of a vote on kids programme, 'Uned Pump', or should I say 'Unit Five'. But you can't blame the children that voted, they were merely responding to the shortlist created by the programme. What do you expect them to think when the presenter smiles, and his voice excites every time he is honoured with the right to mention the names of England 'stars'. Surely the high percentage of votes for Michael Owen was helped by the decision to refer to him as "the Welshman Michael Owen" as if he were Wales' representative in the England/British squad. But Owen is not Welsh - he was born in England, the son of English parents. Maybe he did grow up in Wales and has lived here for most of his life, but by playing for England I would imagine that he has made it clear enough that he is English.

Therefore, the only conclusion I can come to is that the presenters of this show through their endless anglo brain washing, have managed to create a generation of Welsh kids who think that it's right to back England and not Wales. This is the inevitable result of treating the English League as our League and teams like Man U. as 'us'.
