THE NEW YEAR'S MESSAGE OF THE SYRIAC PRIEST

Turabdin Archbishop of Deyrulumur Monastery in Midyat district of Mardin, Timotheos Samuel Aktas has said that the only sentiment that brings people together within the same view and movement has been the love, which is the reflection of God.

In the new year's message he has issued, Aktas stated that love underlies the friendship and solidarity which bring people together under the same roof, that love has directed people to keep away from the egoistic pressures and to being together and sharing which render great service to the public.

Aktas included the following points in his message:

"There is only one sentiment which brings people together within the same view and movement, and that is love which is the reflection of God. The days we are going through make it necessary to keep the love and obligations above all. With these sentiments, I celebrate all Turkey's especially all the statesmen's the year 2002 personally and on behalf of my community."
