Suppan, Cards Victorious in Return to PNC Park
Redbirds first baseman Albert Pujols went 5 for 5 at the plate Tuesday night at PNC Park, extending his hitting streak to ten games.
Pittsburgh-- Despite losing Scott Rolen after he was hit by a pitch, the Cardinals line-up managed to pound out eight runs in the absence of the league's leading RBI man.  Albert Pujols picked up the slack going 5 for 5 at the plate against Pirates starter  Ryan Vogelsong including his league leading 16th home run of 2004.  Pujols also notched two doubles, three runs scored and three RBI.  Ray Lankford had two hits on the night and Jim Edmonds contributed two RBI as Jeff Suppan won his second straight start against his old club.  The Cardinals 8-1 victory keeps them in a tie for second in the central with Houston as the Cubs drop to third.  Tony LaRussa and company will go for their third straight win Wednesday night in Pittsburgh.
