OPENING GALA

Playwright Steve Gallucchio (Mambo Italiano) will be on hand to announce the official opening of the Festival.

Live musical performances by: Miss Gina (Drag Piper), Oscar Mendoza, Gary Anthony, and Dawn Tyler Watson. Light buffet. Tickets: $10. regular price; $5. reduced rate for members of the C.C.G.Q. and Q.D.F.

Dawn Tyler Watson: This local jazz vocalist is a graduate of Concordia University and has gone on to International achievement. She recorded her 1st album called ‘Ten Dollar Dress’ to critical acclaim and more recently appeared along side Roy Dupuis in the film “Jack Paradise”. She has many fans in the G.L.B.T. community having appeared for many years at the Sky Pub ‘Martini Tuesdays’ and at DiverCité’s ‘Boulevard des réves’. GARY ANTHONY: Besides being in the never-ending process of composing his dramatic musical, "Here Comes the Mo(u)rning", Gary Anthony is also in the never-ending process of cutting his yet to be titled debut CD. He originates from Vancouver B.C. and currently teaches English. He will perform new material from his CD at the Opening Gala at 18h on Thursday, October 28, 2004; then he will appear again at the A Rocky All Hallows Eve Halloween Celebration, Sunday October 31, 22h both at Station C. fingerspeak@canada.com
MISS GINA (Drag Piper): Relatively new to the drag world and to Montreal, Miss Gina’s alter-ego Brent Schaus heralds from parts unknown in western – Canada. In a masters program he is a student of literature and drama at Concordia University. Miss Gina will appear as Drag Piper during the Opening Gala and return as Frankenfurter in a medley montage to the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the October 31st A Rocky All Hallows Eve Halloween Celebration at midnight. the dirk@hotmail.com
OSCAR MENDOZA: Born in Mexico City he started his career in the National Institute of Fine Arts in Mexico. He studied French in France and worked in Switzerland in arts and crafts. He now teaches French and Spanish here in Montreal. He studied sound design and recording techniques and two years ago started singing covers like Lenny Kravitz, Madonna and Seal. Oscar also designs and makes his own couture. He will perform solo at the Opening Gala as well as during the Satyricon – Toga Party, Saturday, October 30. ionpop45@hotmail.com
