The Water lingam became a stone Lingam. The goddess Agilandeswari Statue is very beatiful,Spirutual wonder. She wear the ear ring called "Thadangam" is given by Adhi Sankarar. This temple Outer wall is built by Lord Shiva (hindu name of - Thiruneerittan Mathil 8000 feet long, 32 feet heith). The Sivalingam is partially submerged by water ever and meant to represent God form as water. Similarly as kalahasthi,a spider, and elephant who were devotees of the Lord Shivan in here, and get mukthi from lord Shiva. The temple is named Thiru Anai(Elepahant) Kaval (prevent) after the elephant which is believed to have worshipped Lord Siva here.
