Dear Readers and Wheelers,

My visit to Snowmass Village at Aspen, Colorado last week for the 2001 National Disabled American Veteran's Winter Sports Clinic provided greater insight to the many able-bodied people there are in the United States who indeed do want to join forces with the physically challenged. There was at least one volunteer for every disabled person pitching in and helping. Wheel Me On... Article focused on the San Antonio Sub-Chapter of Texas Paralyzed Veterans Association, and their five participating members, has now been uploaded to the site and may be found up-front on the homepage with a link directing you to the story of this exciting event that took place in the Rocky Mountains.

Wheel Me On...Caravan for Disability Awareness to Washington, DC is on schedule and will leave San Antonio, Texas on April 16th as stated on the web site. Information for the caravan is also posted on the homepage with links labeled "Part I" (San Antonio to Washington, DC); "Part II" (Washington, DC); "Part II" (Returning to Texas via the Smokey Mountains). Links provide itinerary, tag-a-long locations, and interesting facts about the journey.

People wishing to join forces at the Host Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia during the three-day (April 23rd-25th) Washington, DC event should register immediately. There is no membership fee to join Wheel Me On...NO registration fee! The program sponsors are listed on the site and there are many amenities that are being provided on a first come, first serve basis. In order to obtain the amenities, REGISTER either by email or fax as soon as possible if you have not already done so, and make your reservations directly with the hotel with the code names provided after registering.
