Showdown at the MI corral

• The show to end all shows. W.R. Maitland, father of co-host Peter Maitland, made his broadcasting debut on ‘Moving Images’ to debate with his son during funding drive. The subject? Who makes the better Western hero – John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. No clear winner was identified, but W.R. put forward a convincing argument in favour of the Duke which won over quite a few listeners. This debate was a decade in the making – so Geoff acted at a fantastic mediator – keeping these boys at bay.
