Insert Leaders in Word 97/2000
You can insert leader characters such as a dotted, dashed, or solid line in Word 97/2000 documents to draw the reader's eye across space in a line. For example:
Cash ..................................................... $500,000
Office equipment ................................. $200,000
To insert leader characters
- Position the cursor on the line where you want to insert leader characters before a tab stop.
- On the Format menu, click Tabs.
- In the Tab stop position box, type the position for a new tab, or select an existing tab stop to which you want to add leader characters.
- Under Alignment, select the alignment for text typed at the tab stop.
- Under Leader, click the leader option you want.
- Click Set, and then click OK.
- Enter text, press TAB to insert leader characters, and then enter text at the tab stop.
