I have a low level research interest in family history (shared with my dad and other relatives), which has come up with some really exciting finds recently.

One involves the local brewery in my birthplace of Kirn:

It turns out that we are related to the guys who founded that brewery in 1798, and whose lineage of butchers, innkeepers, etc. goes back to the 15th century, which has thus helped to drive our own family history nearly two centuries deeper into the "dark ages" ...
