the periodic coffee table

...well, you just couldn't make it up:

The Periodic Coffee Table
Image

A visually stunning presentation of the periodic table suitable for reception areas, board rooms or wherever scientists meet and works of art might be displayed. Each element sample is individually embedded inside a solid acrylic block. The blocks are arranged in the familiar grid of the periodic table, carefully illuminated and beautifully presented beneath a sheet of toughened glass. The coffee table itself is manufactured by British Craftsmen in burred oak.

Customisation
Your university, school or corporate logo can be engraved onto the display.

Safety issues
By embedding all element samples in clear acrylic, they are beautifully presented and also protected from tarnishing. This format also helps to addresses health and safety issues, as all potentially toxic or corrosive substances are permanently encased in a thick layer of robust resin. Argon gas and mineral oil is further used to ampoule reactive samples and preserve their freshly cut appearance. Individual acrylic blocks are available for sale, although read the shipping section carefully as some elements are costly to send internationally.

Coffee Table Dimensions
The table measures 120 cm x 80 cm x 40 cm tall. That's 4 ft x 2.5 ft x 16 inches.

My trouble with this, however, is that the only places that would really benefit from this kind of furniture would be schools etc, and they don't have this kind of money.  but hey, if you happen to be a zillionaire, you can always donate a few of these displays to your favourite schools ...
