Here is a second scale exercise that is a little more complex than the one I posted yesterday. Before you try it, spend some time playing exercise 1 with no repeated notes. Try to get yourself to the point to where you can play the two-octave G scale, with no repeated notes and with good i and m (as well as other combinations) alternation.


This exercise is good because it deals with more string crossings. In order to play it well, your hand positions have to be just right and you have to be very relaxed. Make sure you notice the slur on the first beat of the second measure. This helps facilitate the string crossings coming back down. But also, try it some without the slur.
