Here is another scale exercise to try. This one is particularly designed to help you focus on the timing between the left and right hands. Each grouping (consisting of a set of eighth notes and a set of sixteenth notes) should always be played on the same string. For instance, the exercise begins with C D and E, all three notes played on the fifth string. http://www.geocities.com/michaelpatilla/exercise3.TIF Make sure that both hands stay relaxed, and the right hand articulates the note at the exact time the left hand finger presses the note. Good timing is crucial to developing scale speed. As always, if you have questions, just let me know! Visit my website at http://www.michaelpatilla.com Email me at guitar@colled.msstate.edu
