Mike
Korda |
'Metro'

Starring with Eddie Murphy and Michael
Rappaport, Michael Wincott plays the part of Mike Korda, a jewel thief with a
taste for jazz music.
At first glance Mike Korda (Michael Wincott)
seems an ordinary pleasant man, living in an immaculate apartment. Nothing
unusual, until his plans for the 'one last big job that will let him retire' are
inadvertently jeopardised by his hapless cousin Clarence Teal (Paul
Ben-Victor). A routine visit from police Lieutenant Sam Baffert (Art
Evans) brings out the psychotic side of Korda.
A
jewel store robbery leads to an action filled chase involving a runaway cable
car. The determined Korda seeks revenge on Detective Roper (Eddie Murphy), culminating in an
explosive finale.
Mike Korda opens the door to
Lieutenant Sam Baffert. |
 |
 |
Korda smiles demurely as he
listens to Detective Baffert's questions regarding information received
from Frank Antonuchi, a fence about
some stolen gems allegedly received from Korda. |
Despite the odds, Korda goes
ahead with the robbery at the jewellers and risks everything for the ten
million dollars. |
 |
 |
A hostage tries to stand up to Korda, but is soon silenced under the steely glare and the threat
from the gun.
Think! Would you cross this man? |
During the getaway, Korda foils
Scott Roper. He grins in delight at his
frightened hostage, before yelling at the pleading woman to shut up. |
 |
 |
Finally caught by Roper, Mike
listens unconcerned as his captor tells him of the family left behind
following Korda's murder of Sam Baffert. |
At the prison Korda receives a
visit from Roper, informing him that his cousin Clarence has been killed
following a bungled attempt on Ronnie Tate's (Carmen Ejogo) life. Korda vows to avenge his
cousin's death.. |
 |
 |
Things are looking good for Korda,
he has the gems, a getaway car, Ronnie's life is in the balance and
Roper it seems can do nothing to save her. Also if he is to save his own
life he must watch her die a
horrible death. |
Not having bargained on Kevin
McCall (Michael Rappaport) turning up Mike makes his final attempt at escape,
Korda shoots McCall and gets ready to run. |
