Life Story (as we know it): Bruce Willis spent the first two years of his life on a (get this!) German military base until his family packed up and headed for a small town in New Jersey called Carneys Point. Bruce was the oldest of four children and as a teenager, he worked in a chemical plant.
Once he graduated from high school, Bruce attended Montclair State College in New Jersey, and eventually became interested in acting (one small step for man, one giant step for mankind!). Bruce decided to leave the college and move to New York City in 1977 because he had snatched a small part in an off-broadway play. He used to support himself by working as a bartender (imagine being served by him?) in New York and by performing in other small on-stage roles.

Bruce's Acting Carreer: Bruce's first break as an actor came when he accepted a lead roll in the off broadway hit, Fool For Love. Bruce achieved stardom overnight when he was chosen out of appoximately 3000 other actors to play the wise-cracking detective in the television show, Moonlighting, which became a huge hit immediately and stayed so for four successful seasons (1985-1989). Bruce also won an Emmy for Best Actor in a Television Series in 1987 for his role in Moonlighting.

Bruce's first big-screen movie was along side of Kim Basinger in the 1987 comedy, Blind Date. Although, personally we enjoyed the movie, it wasn't a big hit in the box office and neither was his next film, Sunset, in 1988. But then it happened, Bruce's acting skills were finally acknowledged when he starred as a New York City policeman (John McClane) in Die Hard (1988). This movie was such a great success that it had two sequels, Die Harder (1990) and Die Hard With A Vengeance (1995). These huge action packed films named Bruce Willis as one of Hollywood's top action heroes.
