"Peter Margraf Is Dead; Rites Will Be Thursday For Retired Railroader.

Peter Margraf, 70, 710 E. 10th, retired supervisor of tracks on the New York Central railroad, died at 11:45 p.m. Monday in St. Anthony hospital following a two week illness. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception chruch. Rt. Rev. Msgr. E.H. Vurpillat will officiate and burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the Ott funeral chapel Wednesday afternoon, evening and Thursday. Members of the Holy Name society and Knights of Columbus will meet at the chapel at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to recite the rosary. Mr. Margraf was born Jan. 3, 1878, in Dyer, Ind., son of Simon and Angela Helfen Margraf. he had been a resident of this city for 35 years. On Nov. 25, 1902, he was married in Dyer to Mary Govert, who survives. Also surviving are four sons. Phil, Elyria, Ohio; Arthur, Gary, Indiana; Sylvester and James, this city: four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Flory, LaPorte, Ind.; Mrs. Helen Nugent, Mrs. Bridget Grams and Miss Loretta Margraf, this city: 15 grandchildren, and a sister, Miss Anna Margraf, Dyer. Mr. Margraf was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception church, Holy Name society, Knights of Columbus, Pioneer Assn. of the Michigan Central railroad and was a life member of the Michigan City Fish and Game club."
