"Mary G. Margraf

Elkhart - Mary G. Margraf, 92, of 3407 Lake Point Circle, died Monday morning (May 3, 1999) at Elkhart General Hospital. The daughter of Neil and Catherine (Dobbs) Morgan, she was born on Sept. 15, 1906, in Pontiac, Ill., and married Philbert S. Margraf on Sept 15, 1934, in Joliet, Ill. He died July 16, 1972.

Mrs. Margraf is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Maureen) Kocks of Grove City, Ohio, Mrs. Delio (Patricia) Mordenti of Kissimmee, Fla., and Mrs. Laverne (Fran) Kohlbrecher of Shorewood, Ill.; three sons, Robert of Indianapolis, Jerome of Fort Wayne and Edward of Edwardsburg; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother are deceased.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Rev. Joseph Rulli will officiate. Burial will be at St. Vincent Cemetary. Mrs. Margraf was a medical secretary for more than 20 years with the Simpson Medical Group, retiring in 1979. She has been a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Rosary and Altar societies, National Council of Catholic Women and Harvest House.

Memorials may be given to the church or American Heart Association."

Notes from close family: "She was so good at her job that they would call her in to help after her retirement. Always worked on quilts. Sometime she made her kids clothes. She could fix anything that broke on clothing. She made great candy and food."

Mary's parents died when she was very young, perhaps before 1910. She was orphaned and lived with her Aunt growing up.
