County Court Records of Accomack-Northhampton, VA 1640-1645, pg. 185-186 lists contract of a Thomas Church and Nazareth Attcock (Phillip's servant) to work for Phillip Taylor for two years and two months. Phillip would allow the two to marry after Christmas 1643 when he would free Nazareth of her service. The time period of Thomas Church's contract was Nov 1, 1642 until Christmas 1644. If either person dies before Christmas 1644, the other would serve out the remainder of the deceased contract. (This has not been proven to be the same Thomas Church as our ancestor.)
