CLAUDE CHARON

Another different pioneer than Robert Charon arrived to Quebec, June 4 1634, contributed as of 17th century to the essaimage of the Charon patronym. Claude Charon is baptized into 1641, originating in the parish of St-Jean d' Aubrigoux. Claude Charon is engaged as servant of the Jesuits, 24 years old, according to the census of 1666. He is confirmed the same year in the Cape-of-the-Madeleine. He is quoted in Laprairie, September 22 1672. With the census of 1681, he lives in Laprairie, 40 years old.
Toward 1670, the Ancestor Claude Charon marries in St-Jean d' Aubrigoux, LePuy district, of évêché Clermont, in Auvergne, Madeleine Varennes, baptized in 1641, who is perhaps the girl of Claude Varennes, deceased in April 1672 in Laprairie, originating in St-Jean d' Aubrigoux. Together, the couple Claude Charon and Madeleine Varennes have nine children including four sons; two of those die in low age, whereas the two others, Claude Charon and Vital Charon, marry the sisters Élisabeth Perthuis and Marie Perthuis, girls of the ancestor Pierre Perthuis and Claude Damisé, in 1695 and January 24 1698, respectively in Montreal. It is the couple of Vital Charon and Marie Perthuis which weaves us the link in this genealogy. Of the eight children whom they have, Marie Charon which was born on April 19, 1702 and baptized the 21st, in Lachine, marries on December 14, 1721, Jean-Baptiste Brault dit Pomainville, born on July 20 1699, son of George Brault, dit Pomainville, and of Barbe Brunet. The ancestor dies at the 70 years age, in Montreal and it is buried on September 18, 1708. The grandmother Madeleine Varennes who is 40 years old with the census of 1681, dies at 92 years the advanced age, buried in Montreal, March 18, 1727. from www.scarolina.com/the-french-canadian-connection
