Notes for Catherine Lotier

Catherine Lotier (1641-1705)
Daughter of the master painter Adrien Lotier and Anne Desdarmes, from Saint Sulpice parish of Paris, she contracted marriage before the notary Basset on Wed. October 29, 1659, whith Andrien Leger, son of the late Louis Leger and of the late Perrette Lacaille, from Sainte-Margerite-de-Duclair parish, archdiocese of Rouen in Normandy. The got married in Montreal on Tuesday March 25, 1659. The had one child together. Her husband passed away in Motreal on Tuesday January 11, 1661. She contracted marriage before the notary Basset on Sunday May 29, 1661 with Mathurin Jousset, son of Mathurin Jousset and Marie Caillaux, from Saint-Germain d'Arce parish, region of Angers en Anjou. They wed in Montreal on Monday August 8, 1661. Together they had 12 children. She was brought to Montreal by Jeanne-Mance in 1659 as a "fille a' marier" (marriagable daughter). She lived in Montreal and died there on September 3, 1705, 2 months and a few days after her husband.
