Bouron, Jean 1642-1712
The son of Hillaire Bouron and Helene Souchet, from St.-Hillaire-sur-l'Autise, in the region of La Rochelle au Poitou, he contracted for marriage before the notary Paul Vachon, on Sunday October 6, 1686, with Anne Binet, born Friday Setpmber 21, 1668 in Quebec, daughter of Rene Binet and Catherine Bourgeois, and widow of Pierre Dron, and married her in Beauport Monday October 7, 1686. From their marriage came 6 children. His wife Anne Binet, died August 3, 1698 in Charlesbourg. He contracted for another marriage August 2, 1699, before the notary Chambalon, with Francoise Chaquereau, widow of Nicolas Georget, and married her in Quebec Monday August 3, 1699. They had no children. He was in the country in 1677, because in Beauport on April 27, 1678, he became the godfather to Marie-Madeleine Sasseville, daughter of Pierre Sasseville and Marie Siegneur. October 16, 1679, while described as a worker somewhere in Quebec, he signed up for one year at a salary of 135 pounds plus food and lodging with Jean Thibierge, miller at the mill at Notre-Dame-des-Anges. At the time of the census in 1681, he worked as a servant with the nurses at l'Hotel Dieu in Quebec. He subsequently went to work as a servant for a land owner in Beauport. June 4, 1686 Jacques Girard sold him a residence covering 3 arpents of waterfront by 20 arpents in depth, in the plain of Saint-Romain, in the domain of Saint-Ignace, for the price of 40 pounds. The priest Bisson paid 30 pounds of his debt on a note from father Pachot and himself paid the remaining 10 pounds in beaver skins. February 22, 1687, along with Pierre Conille dit La Rochelle, he made another commitment to supply and maintain a small boat for the salary of 3 pounds 2 sols, and to "row as far as the boat could go". He signed the same sort of contract, same conditions, January 19, 1688. January 15, 1689 he changed associates, joining Mathurin Ringue to do the same work at the same price. He had 2 stays in l'Hotel Dieu in Quebec July 27, 1695 and April 4, 1696. May 18, 1701 he rented for one year the land and home of Ande Morin, in Saint Bernard of Charlesbourg for 2/3 of the grain and half the straw. He agreed also to "build a shed" to store the straw. His second wife was buried in Charlesbourg on May 17, 1708. After her death, he went to work as a servant for a lord Giffard in Beauport. He died in L'Hotel Dieu in Quebec March 28, 1712. March 31, Vincent Guillot, appointed guardian of Joseph Bouron, took inventory of his belongings with the notary Duprac. This document indicates that his estate was left to the seigneuriel home of Beauport. As well as his estate, he also still owned the home where he lived in the village of Saint-Romain-de Charlesbourg. Here was found a house 25 feet by 20 feet falling into ruin, covered with wooden planks with an earthen chimney.
