Hint No. 14 - Germany & America - Part 3

While searching for connections between the US and the Nazis I came across the following interesting quotation. It says that IBM using the company Dehomag (German Hollerith Machines Association) was directly connected into businesses with the Nazis (Link: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2001/jun2001/ibm-j27.shtml). Hollerith, a German-American, invented the card reading technology at the end of the 19th century. From 1933 this technology was then used by Dehomag (so to speak a subsidiary company of IBM) to register the Jews living in Germany – systematically and meticulously. Edwin Black, son of parents with Jewish ancestry, collected a lot of important details about this economical co-operation in his book “IBM and the Holocaust”. I do not know this book, but it might be interesting. One paragraph of the online article seems important in my opinion: “Black stresses that Watson [Chairman of IBM at that time] was not a fascist, but a ruthless profiteer. The strong German state under an authoritarian leader offered great potential for moneymaking, and that was what Watson identified with.”
This remark may also explain that so many projects which are meant to be “helpful” – no matter whether sponsored and organised by the World Bank or the IMF (International Monetary Fund) – actually serve fiscal and economic-political interests. No-one wants to do any harm, but “friendship has an end when it comes to money” as everyone may know. And therefore about 50,000 Iraqis (more than 100 a day! – mostly women and children) have to starve every year due to the economic embargo. But as I already said, that we are doing “fine”, somewhere else thousands have to die. And the Iraq is just one example of many.

Searching for Nazi-connected companies you will find such well-known names as General Motors, DuPont, Monsanto, IG Farben etc. – there were countless economical involvements, which made World War II and the Holocaust to those things they finally were. The “infantry” (normal people) were presented a nice foe image which they swallowed willingly. The current situation is absolutely comparable with the time 69 years ago. But we cannot imagine a war – only a few of us have an idea of what it means to be in a war or may have a slight imagination of the dimensions. And however, the Iraq is so far away.

Those who have seen the movie „In the blind spot – Hitler’s Secretary“ by André Heller may remember the scene when Traudl Jung (Hitler’s Secretary) mentioned: “The public discussion (explaining, scrutinizing) about the Nazi times began in West Germany only in the 1960s.”
Therefore I ask myself: What have they done the 20 years before? Removing the detritus, establishing a new state, the “German Economical Miracle”? Despite all possible sympathy for the dogs of war and the endless woes, which the war brought to the people in East and West, I doubt that there weren’t any efforts to investigate how something like this had been possible. How was it possible that such a comparable small country called for a war against whole Europe? How was it possible that so many people could get stupefied or simply watched the things going on? Since September 11th we know (or I could explain it to myself) how they stupefy the masses. Why they didn’t do anything after World War II to cogitate upon the “genesis and growing up” of the “Third Reich” in public, we can experience today more and more often – videlicet everyday in the official mass media. Apparently there was no public excogitation. And I assume, that the missing official excogitation had a massive effect to the excogitation of the masses. How many Nazi-connections to the USA did exist before World War II? How many did exist after the war? What was the mission of the Marshall-Plan?

Again and again you can watch movies in which they ask the Germans how they could tolerate such cruelties during World War II? How was that public pursuit of the Jews possible at all? Why did no-one (or at least only a few) do anything against it? It seems to me that in particular countries, organisations, interest groups, etc., who have an interest in Germans feeling rather guilty than trying to understand and work on their past, ask those questions. It is one of the easiest things to manipulate the human brain – just take the daily commercials on TV, radio, on the streets (actually everywhere – even in bedrooms) as an evidence. Add a little bit of fear and a well-prepared foe image and quickly you will have 70 % of the population on your side. Best thing to do is to confront the population with decision-making, for example: “Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists” (George W. Bush). The other 30 % you will then ask A) “on their own interest” better to leave the country or B) you proselyte them slowly. If this doesn’t help you C) muzzle them or much easier D) you just kill them. In a so-called “Democracy” you can “officially” use only the methods A (many people in exile), B (look at yourself) and C (look at the media or better who/what you will not find in the media anymore). Method D doesn’t seem to match with the word “Democracy”. But also in a Democracy you will find some “maniacs” which can be blamed for doing those things quite easily. The population would be shocked for some days how things like this could be possible and after 5 days everything will be forgotten again. Little help to remember: Mahatma Gandhi, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Salvador Allende, Olov Palme, Alfred Herrhausen (assassinated in November 1989, Head of the German Bank), Detlef Rohwedder (assassinated in April 1991, Head of the Treuhandanstalt - German Trust Company - Privatisation Agency), etc. etc.

I think approaching to understand German History just takes a look to the America of today (if the media would be so nice to allow us doing that J). And if Americans try to understand “us” (Germans) they just have to look at themselves – it is happening right now in front of their own houses and schools. Let’s see when Mr. Bush will recollect his old times as Governor and re-discover his then favourite hobby – signing death sentences.

To get to the point of the whole thing: it shouldn’t be too difficult to understand how to direct/guide masses and to take care that they wouldn’t realise that. And exactly this should make us think. By coincidence I recently met two young Americans in Dresden-Neustadt – students who are engaged in the Lyndon-LaRouche-Movement (candidate for the Presidency Elections in 2004) in the USA and who helped for the preparations of the German elections for the BÜSO-Party. Hint!: This is neither a hidden commercial for any Party nor do I want to talk about details and ideas of the BÜSO-Party. First of all I don’t know much about that and secondly this is not the purpose of the “Hint-e-mails”.
However, we talked to each other for quite a long time and it was interesting for me to have met “Americans of a different kind”. In particular it was important for me that even Americans confirm the extreme effects of a nation-wide dumbing-down in the US. They were talking about a “social experiment” which has been carried out in the United States and … it worked. This wave came over Europe some time ago and more and more it has been inundating Asia. There is no medium-sized German city without its own McDonalds, teenagers wear the American flag on their pockets, socks, t-shirts, etc. TV consists of 70 % America. Allegedly 83 % of the world-wide sold cinema tickets were purchased for Hollywood movies (taken from „
A survey of America’s world role“. The Economist, June 29, 2002). Many consider America as the land of their dreams. And why? I assume, 80 % would say in the first place that you can earn good money there. No doubt, one can do that – but how long yet and for what do you need all that money then? And what would it be worth then? Well, we have reached the old topics “The Meaning of Life” & “Economy Crisis” and therefore I would like to stop at this point.

Have a nice, sunny day. Yours, Michael.
