ice2002

This has been my biggest mod of all. I planned to upgrade my I.C.E in the later of 2001, after lots of thought into various boot fits, I decided to go for a BIG change.
First, as this Micra was not my normal daily transport, passenger carrying space was not needed so out came the rear seats. Having removed the rear seats the rear seat belts were not needed for M.O.T so they were also removed. After all the other bits and pieces were removed there was a nice big space for I.C.E.

Planning the layout I decided to keep access to the original spare wheel and also give myself a bit more carrying space for the usual cruise camping gear. The component parts of the build were decided on after many visits to my local I.C.E supplier (NORFOLK CAR AUDIO). I picked HOLLYWOOD 15" subs + HOLLYWOOD 2000w amp for the main BASS PUNCH. KINETIC 6"midrange and tweeters + crossovers were choosen for the rest of the frequencies driven by an ALPINE 400w 4ch amp all this supplied with power through a 100amp trip fuse and 15mm cable and 2 x 80amp fuse block.

The main floor is 12mm MDF supported on 2 x 50cm x 100cm timber securely fixed to existing floor holes. Sides were built from 12mm MDF and fixed using blocks of wood bolted to rear seat belt fixings. The rear of the main floor was removed to house a hinged enclosure containing amps, fuses etc. Grey carpet was used to match existing color of side panels and black carpet on main floor to give a contrast.
