2nd Week of August PRUTAS FESTIVAL
Gingoog City

A feast of the natural bounties of the Gingoog City showcasing various fruit tree products. Gingoog is the fruit basket of the region.

3rd Saturday of August PILGRIMAGE TO JOROAN
Joroan, Tiwi, Albay

This is a yearly pilgrimage to our Nuestra Señora de Salvacion, the Patroness of Albay. It is highlighted by a maritime procession and a Concelebrated Mass on the shores of good Beach. Thousands of pilgrims from different places here to play homage to the Marian image.

August 1 ADLAW HONG BUTUAN (50TH CHARTER DAY ANNIVERSARY)

It’s the 50th Charter Day celebration of Butuan City. It will be highlighted by the launching of the 1,000 years First Filipino Trade Mission to China, Recognition Awards, Testimonial Dinner, and Socio-Civic Military Parade.

A contest among the barangays in Surigao City on beautification, cleanliness, environmental protection, infrastructure, barangay administration, planning and budgeting, fiscal management and community mobilization.

Basco, Batanes

Cultural presentation of the different Municipalities of Batanes showcasing the life and times of the Ivatans.

August 6-11 MERCEDES FISHTIVAL
Mercedes, Camarines Norte

It is a fisherman’s holiday celebration in which, said festivity is dedicated as a time of annual thanksgiving for the blessings and bounty received from the Almighty during their seafaring, fishing expeditions and fish farming endeavors.

August 11 HULATAN FESTIVAL
Julita, Leyte

A celebration depicting the historical events which led to the creation of the municipality.

August 14 PASAKA FESTIVAL
Tanauan, Leyte

A dance parade and cultural presentation. "Pasaka" connotes warm, welcome, progress and homage.

August 14 KALIBONGAN FESTIVAL
Kidapawan City

Celebrated simultaneously with the charter anniversary celebration of Kidapawan. Kalibongan means "grand festival". A gathering of different ethnic tribal groups. The festival is highlighted by horsefight, blood compact ceremony, trade fair, sports competition, cultural presentation, conferment of datus and bases and tribal wedding.

August 14 (movable) CORDOVA DINAGAT FESTIVAL
Cordova, Mactan Island, Cebu City

The festival is characterized by street dancing and an interpretative dance competition based on the fishing rituals and culture of the Cordovanhons.

A grand reunion of Kagay-anons residing in the US and Canada normally done every three years.

August 15-17 TUGUEGARAO PATRONAL TOWN FIESTA

Celebration includes sports and cultural presentations. Trade fairs; beauty pageant, street-dancing, and others. Special features is "NUANGKARERA", a colorful carabao parade and carabao races.

A festival showing various uses of the coconut tree and its by-products through dances and street revelry.

A festival of thanksgiving for bountiful harvest and tribute to its colorful tribes in Exotic Mindanao. A celebration that interfaces three aspects: Tribal, Industrial and Arts and Entertainment. It is also highlighted by Float/Floral Parade & street dancing "Indak-Indak sa Dalan.

August 19 BUYOGAN FESTIVAL
Abuyog, Leyte

Body painting and costume competition depicting the origin of name of the town of Abuyog. Adjudged as one of the best festivals of the Philippines for its excellent choreography, creative and realistic costume design.

August 19 BALAGTASAN SA INTRAMUROS

A debate in Tagalog poetry among students in high school level from public & private (nationwide).

August 26-28 KAGAY-AN FESTIVAL
Cagayan de Oro City

A Mardi gras type of street dancing participated in by contingents from school and civic organizations in the city and nearby areas.

August 29 NATIONAL HEROES DAY
San Carlos City, Negros Occidental

A celebration paying homage to people who fought for freedom, usually held with a cultural program and flower offering at the foot of the Unknown Soldier Monument.

A national celebration in honor of those who died fighting for the freedom of our country.
