Death In Disguise
The opening scene shows us 'The Lodge of the Golden Windhorse'. Ian Craige, the Head of the Lodge, dressed in long robes is seen walking through the garden. He meets a man called Bill. Bill says he wants to meet away from the house in case they need to drop their guard! He points out that they have now given the place 10 years and it is time to cash in. Ian Craige says he doesn't want to now and that he is also unable to buy Bill out. Bill remarks "can you remember what I was capable of when people tried to cheat me!"
The two men are next seen in the Lodge arguing at the top of the stairs; there is a scuffle and Bill falls down them, laying motionless at the bottom. Hearing the bump, other people in the house rush there to see what has happened.
May Cuttle rushes from the Lodge to Barnaby's house, interrupting his lunch preparations, to seek help.
