Summary:
In Midsomer Magna, Charles Edmonton - an Alzheimer patient - is working on a secret project to make travelling easier and save the environment. Many residents of the village have invested money into the project, including Julian Sheperd. Sheperd, however, is in financial trouble - but once he asks for his money back, he is murdered and dumped in a pond. Soon after Edward Darwin finds a body in the freezer of Casement Hall when trying to steal some birds eggs. He is hit by a car, but survives and returned home, only to die during the night of internal bleeding. Then another local figure, Major Hamilton, is speared in his backyard: the killer seems to have no intention of stopping their murderous spree in Midsomer Magna...

Solution

The murderer is Naomi Sinclair. She was the sister of Mallory Edmonton, and Charles Edmonton's sister-in-law. She was also a doctor.

Naomi and Major Hamilton had planned on stealing Charles' money from his project, but things went wrong when Julian Sheperd wanted his money back. Naomi drowned him in his bath and then drove his car into the lake.

It was never fully established whether or not Charles Edmonton was killed or not, but there seems to be an indication that Naomi killed him with some sort of drug.

Things took a further turn for the worse when Eddie Darwin, wanting to steal some birds eggs, found Charles's body in the freezer. Naomi came driving up to Casement Hall just when Darwin was running away, but she only could to hit him once before her car got stuck. Darwin died, nonetheless, during the night.

Major Hamilton, in the mean while, was planning on leaving both his wife AND Naomi Sinclair, and was about to fly to South Africa with all the money. Naomi found out about this and killed him with an African spear, which Hamilton's wife had dragged outside - with the rest of his African stuff - to burn it.

Finally, she attempted to kill her sister Mallory in an attempt to frame her, but she was attacked by her sisters' birds and failed to murder her properly.
