Episode 46: Scene Four
Marlo licked her lips as she spotted Kendall walking down the hallways. His broad shoulders and square face eminated strength and importance. Those were two things she loved in a boy. If they had power, and weren't afraid to use it, it was an immediate turn-on to her and she wasn't afraid to show it.
When Kendall was within close range, she let out an overexaggerated sigh before crumpling up on the floor. Kendall stopped walking and looked at her. He arched an eyebrow before walking over to her.
"Is something wrong?"
Marlo shook her head, looking up at Kendall with sorrowful eyes. "I don't want to trouble you."
"It's all right. Maybe it's something I can help you with," Kendall offered, secretly pained by the pitiful and hideous look on her face.
"Well, okay. You see, I'm new here, and I haven't had time to find out where my classes are. This is such a big school, and it's been ten minuets and I still haven't been able to find my first period class. The tardy bell rang almost three minutes ago, and I hate to have a tardy on my first day."
Kendall nodded sympathetically. He too had experienced the same problems on his first day at Midway Prep. "Here, let me help you," he took her schedule from her. After glancing over it for a second, he smiled. "You're headed right where I'm going back to. Mrs. Lam's class is right down this hallway over here," Kendall pointed to the science hall.
"Oh! Oh, thank you! Thank you so very much!" Marlo jumped up and hugged Kendall, taking time to relish the feel of his body and his hesitant arms around her. "You're a life saver!"
"No problem," Kendall said, a little surprised and a little annoyed at Marlo's boldness. "So where'd you come from?"
"Uh..." Marlo attempted to think up a place. "I'm from...Idaho," she fairly blurted the word out.
"Idaho! What are you doing all the way down here?"
"It's no secret that Midway Prep is one of the best schools in the nation, and maybe even the world. It was either here or Midway Academy, which is another good school, but Midway Academy was filled. So, whether by stroke of luck or something else, I'm here!" Marlo smiled and laughed heartily, observing Kendall out of the corner of her eye.
A faraway look had come upon Kendall's face. "Yeah, Midway Academy," his voice was soft and nearly inaudible. He shook away the thoughts and resumed his walking. "We'd better hurry. Mrs. Lam hates late students."
"Okay. I'll be right there. I've just got to grab my binder."
"Do you need any help?"
"No, that's okay. You can go on ahead. Thanks again for your help," Marlo said as she watched Kendall turn down the science hall. A sly smile spread across her face. "Ah yes, Kenny. I'll have plenty of time to show you exactly how much I appreciate your help as soon as I get into your arms and maybe even...oh well. Now I really have something to look forward to: a summer filled with getting exactly what I deserve. Kendall will be mine."
