Episode 54: Scene Five
"Why don't you leave her alone and pick on someone your own size?" Sloane walked up to Barrett, his eyes blazing with a fierce fire that had first began burning during his young life on the streets. The fire was bright, searing, and extremely dangerous.
"Excuse me?" Gemini stepped between Barrett and Sloane. "Who gave you the right to step into my conversation?"
"What are you talking about? This guy is obviously bothering you!" Sloane cried out, looking at Gemini with disbelief.
"If he is, then I can handle him, right? Look, why don't you just go back to your friends and leave me and Barrett alone? You'll be much better off over there with them."
"For your information, I'm here with Robin. She invited me."
The words stung like a slap in the face to Gemini. She quickly looked away from Sloane. Why is it bothering you, Gem? It shouldn't matter. It doesn't matter!
"I saw trouble over here, so I just thought I'd see if you're okay."
"Well, as you can see, I'm better than I've ever been. So why don't you go back to Robin so you two can talk and...and do all the things that you do," Gemini pursed her lips and advanced towards Sloane.
"Fine, I will! Just don't ask for my help anymore!" Sloane yelled back at her, though he was rather hurt that she'd so forcefully rejected his attempt to show that he wanted to get over their problems.
"No one asked you in the first place, so get lost!" Gemini raised her arm and pointed to the other side of the room.
"Good day and good riddens!" Sloane shouted back at her while retreating back towards Robin.
Gemini about-faced with a huff. "The nerve of that guy!"
Barrett began applauding. "My, my. That was quite some performance you just gave there."
Gemini looked up at Barrett for only a split-second before her hand flashed out and gave him a hard smack against his left cheek. "Don't you think for a second that I did that for you. I only did that so that I would be the only one to take pleasure in inflicting the same amount of pain on you that you've inflicted upon so many others. But I don't feel like it right now, so why don't you follow Sloane's lead and get lost."
"I don't take orders from anyone," Barrett's haughty attitude quickly made a reappearance.
Gemini flashed her hand again. "Unless you want me to permanently brand you, I'd start making tracks as far away from here as possible, got it?"
A smirk slowly appeared on Barrett's face. He nodded his head slightly. "Yes, Your Highness."
