Episode 54: Scene Six
"Okay, how about we cut out the drama for just a few minutes. I think the ceremony's about to start," Karen broke into Mel and Chantal's serious conversation. "I hear they have some awesome things planned for this year. You know, stuff that they've never done before."
"Please tell me that the idiots in charge didn't come up with the ideas," Jade groaned as she rolled her eyes.
"That's what I heard," Karen replied.
"Oh, great. So we're going to be having polka-dancing contests and line dances. Well, yee-haw and get on with it, because I know I'm not gonna like it."
"Jade, give them a chance. You never know, they might decide to have a rodeo instead of a line dance!" Mel joked.
"That makes it all better doesn't it," Jade laughed, then turned to look at Kendall and Marlo again. "If you'll please excuse me, I'm going to go get my boyfriend and drag him back over here. I can't stand looking at them for one more moment."
"Go on, girl, and reclaim what's yours!" Chantal encouraged Jade.
"Chantal! We're trying to get her over the possessive stage, remember?" Karen said, then grabbed Jade's hand. "Just let it go, Jade. Don't let it bother you or you'll find yourself losing everything. If Kendall finds out that you're jealous-"
"I'm not jealous!" Jade interrupted, placing her hands on her hips. "I'm anything but jealous. If anything, I'm mad at him because because he's not over here spending time with me like boyfriends are supposed to do! I've let it go on long enough. I"m not going to stand for it any longer."
"Well if I can't stop you, then just go. Go and reclaim your destiny," Karen grumbled, turning away from the group and looking up towards the stage.

While the group laughed at Karen's last remark, a shadow lurked in a dusky, deserted hallway only a couple of feet away from them. Obviously its attentions were focused on Mel and Chantal, for they were the cause of it coming there. "You'd better mind your own business and not interfere with my plan," a deep, threatening voice growled, "because if you dare to step in where you do not belong, you'll be in as much danger as your precious friend Gia is. I'll make sure of that."
