Episode Fifty-Five
July 25, 2001

Marlo licked her lips seductively as she eyed Kendall talking with his girlfriend Jade across the room. The welcomer's words went unheard as far as Marlo was concerned. The young lady was entirely engrossed by thoughts of Kendall. Outrageous schemes had already begun to formulate in her creative mind, one of which she planned on acting on as soon as possible. However, in order to carry out the plan, she would have to have help.

Marlo's dark eyes searched the Arboretum for her supposed accomplice. She hadn't been keeping tabs on Shannon, which worried her a bit. If Shannon was to help her, Marlo would have to keep track of her to make sure that she didn't stray from her job in helping Marlo. Sure, it was only because she was being forced to, but Marlo didn't care.

Marlo had quickly learned that it was a dog-eat-dog world. Having grown up in south central L.A., she knew what it was like to have to fight for what she wanted. Now she was taking that animalistic attitude out of the dangerous streets of the inner-city and into the prestigious, upper-class halls of Midway Prep. She didn't have time to feel sorry or to think of helping Shannon. All she thought of was how to get what she wanted, and what she wanted most was to get with Kendall.

Finally spotting Shannon walking in the front doors of the Arboretum, Marlo quickly found her way to the back of the room to meet her. When Shannon attempted to ignore her, Marlo made sure that she caught her attention and then gave her a warning look. She could help but smile when Shannon came stomping towards her.

"What do you want?" Shannon got straight to the point. She never was one to waste words.

"Don't you even cop that kind of an attitude with me. You have an obligation to me, just in case you forgot."

"I don't owe you squat. I'm sick of you stalking me and demanding that I help you. You can go and scream to the whole world that I almost killed Jakoby. I'm sure they'll all just come up to me and give me a high-five, because no one likes him."

"Hmm, I wonder if that's the way your parents would feel," Marlo turned away from Shannon, knowing that she'd scored.

Shannon paled. "You wouldn't dare."

Marlo wheeled back around to face her. "I wouldn't? Well, are you willing to risk just how far I'll go, hmm?"

Shannon just stared at Marlo for a few moments. The last thing on earth she wanted to do was help Marlo, but she didn't want her parents to find out what had been going on at school. She loved them so much, and knew they loved her as well. She didn't want to do anything that would jeopardize their relationship, and certainly didn't want to risk Marlo telling them.

Shannon took a deep breath before finally giving in. "Fine, I'll help you."

"That's more like it. You and I have a lot of work to do, Shan. I have a plan that I want us to start working on immediately."
