Episode 55: Scene Four
"Either tell me what your stupid plan is or I'm outta here," Shannon tapped her foot impatiently, her unusually hawkish eyes narrowed upon Marlo. "Unlike you, I don't have all day to waste my time obsessing over some boy who's already in a relationship."
"Look, I don't need any crap out of you right now. Shut up and listen to what I have to say," Marlo snapped in return, taking a seat along the wall of the Arboretum. "I plan on sneaking into Kendall's dorm room-"
"You what?!" Shannon exclaimed in disbelief, appalled at how far this crazed girl was going to go in order to get a guy to notice her.
"Didn't I say shut up and listen? Anyways, I plan on sneaking into his dorm room and leaving a little note and a couple of pictures with Kendall to show him just what he's missing out on. He'll be sure to fall head-over-heels for me, and I'll be right there to catch him."
"You have lost your mind. I knew you were crazy, but this...this is unbelievable," Shannon breathed, folding her arms. "So exactly how do I fit into all of this mess?"
"You are going to be the one keeping watch. If anyone catches me, I'll get suspended!"
"And I shouldn't want you to because..."
"Look, believe it or not, both of us have something to lose. I'll get thrown out of MP if I'm caught, and if I do, then I'll send your parents a nice little letter about their daughter's psychotic behavior when it comes to dealing with tormentors. Is that what you want, Shannon?" Marlo continued toying with Shannon's love for her parents.
"Of course not! I'd never want to hurt them that much!" Shannon spat. The thought of her parents learning about her terrible mistakes left a bitter taste in her mouth. After a moment of silence, Shannon looked down at the floor. "Fine, I'll do it. But trust me when I say I will find a way to get back at you once this is all over."
"Fine, we'll worry about that later. But right now, I need to get Kendall, so let's go," Marlo grabbed Shannon's wrist and began leading her out of the Arboretum.
Shannon jerked her arm free of Marlo's grip, looking at Marlo as if she were completely devoid of intelligence. "First, don't you ever grab me like that again. Second, you can't do this now. Kendall's looking right at you."
Marlo abruptly wheeled around to catch Kendall's gaze. When he smiled and waved at her, she batted her eyelashes and waved back. "Isn't it so obvious that he wants me?"
"You are disgusting. I've got to get away from you before I hurl all over myself," Shannon about-faced and began walking towards a group of her friends, leaving her sassy attitude behind and putting on a brighter front. She was going to find a way to get out from under Marlo's thumb. One way or another, she'd find a way.
